Well, this is official. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is getting a new version — and it could be timed exclusively for PlayStation 5. A trailer was dropped like an uproar earlier today during PlayStation Showcase 2021, which succinctly shows a much higher-resolution look at Darth Revan. Seriously, it’s hard for KOTOR enthusiasts not to go wrong with this iconic helmet. I can’t wait to see her again in a remade.
Sony has a habit of presenting games as only coming to their consoles during these shows. However, in a blog post by Ryan Treadwell of Aspyr Media (lead producer), a certain line can be read: “We’re rebuilding one of the greatest RPGs ever for a new generation using modern technology, features, visuals, and more, while maintaining the integrity of the story and characters that… Cherish it. It is a PlayStation 5 exclusive console at launch.”
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is a console exclusive at launch, which suggests it will be on other platforms after a while. Naturally, we are holding out hope for the news that will eventually make it to our platform. It could be six months or a year. But hell, we’ve waited this long. What other year?
