Pac-Man 99: How to Play, Rules, Tips to Follow

If you have played the classic arcade game, you must be aware of what you have to do to survive to the end. But the change this time with the new Pac-Man 99 BR mode is to eat Pac-Dots and avoid ghosts simultaneously with 98 other players. All 99 players will compete against each other and the winner will be awarded the “PAC-ONE” title. There are unique boosts and new features that players can try to gain an “upper hand” in the game.

Speaking of gameplay, let’s start with the basics. Eat energy pellets to avoid ghosts and also accumulate results. When you start eating ghosts mainly White Pac-Men, you can send Jammer Pac-Man to the opponent. If the player touches the jammer, it will be slowed down. You can also swallow up a series of ghosts by devouring the sleeping ghosts that you will see near the center of the stage. If you run out of pellets and want to reset, just eat the fruit near the center of the stage.

There are four power ups – speed, strength, benchmark, and training. For targeting other players, the game offers four options on the table – Random (pick a random opponent), Knockout (the game will target the opponent closer to being knocked out), Reply (targets the players attacking you), The Hunter (targets the player who comes out the most).

If you’re confused about what the White and Red Pac-Men do, here’s a simple explanation – White Pac-Men slow you down if you pass through them, the best way to avoid them is to eat energy pellets. Red Pac-Men as the color indicates is a danger zone; Eating the fruits will help you get rid of them.

As for the power ups, the Pac-Man subreddit I was able to list how each option works. Faster – doubles speed but reduces attack output, training – doubles dormant ghosts clicking on them, but each touch will deploy a jammer as well, stronger – reduces energy pellets to three seconds, allows sending 2x jammers once ghosts are consumed, standard – no So much to talk about. Do note that power-ups will only work once Pac-Man consumes an energy pellet.

That’s all about Bandai Namco’s new Pac-Man BR. But before we wrap up, here are some tips. If you’re playing jock for the first time, follow the basic trick – stay low and watch (but don’t get killed). Eating ghosts might be tempting, but it’s best to slow down as the game is challenging with progress. Set Ghost Trains, switch between eight presets at just the right time to outrun your opponent.
