The DOTA 2 replacement we’ve been waiting for

The origin of MOBAs or the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena dates back to 1990. The genre has always been dominated by two underdogs – Dota 2 and League of Legends which have continued to grow exponentially since their inception. While this intrinsically stimulating genre has a strong foothold in the PC gaming sector, MOBA is a relatively new member of the mobile gaming arena. To deliver an immersive MOBA experience on mobile, League of Legends developer Riot Games introduced Wild Rift in October last year. What is League of Legends: Wild Rift?

League of Legends: Wild Rift is a new MOBA that’s becoming hugely popular in the mobile (select regions) space. Developer Riot Games rebuilt Summoners Rift from the ground up for a mobile platform. Early reviewers claim that some famous heroes from the original computer game have been slightly modified on mobile. Some of the popular skins have also been redesigned and dual controls are included in the title interface to play. PocketTactics Note that the game takes a hint of Legends of Runeterra with a good introductory progression that takes you through game elements such as the arcade concept and even provides you with rewards for learning the ropes. League of Legends: Tips and Tricks for Wild Rift Gameplay

The game gets the same control layout as the PC version. The left stick enables you to move your character, while the right stick lets you launch basic attacks. To make it easier to access, point and click attack has been converted into skills. Tapping the big button once automatically targets the closest champion. Targets can be set manually by pulling the thumb via the attack button. When turned on, the button turns into a digital core that animates a yellow reticle on the screen.

The attack button is relieved by two smaller buttons that prompt your hero to give priority to minions or towers. To upgrade, you need precision and save capabilities to get the most out of it. You can also earn gold by destroying towers, heroes on the other side, and special monsters. Although all of this may sound daunting (if you are new to the genre), don’t worry because Wild Rift has a series of tutorials that can provide the basics of gameplay. And, for the best, it is a game optimized for mobile which means you will not experience complications like in the PC version.

League of Legends: Wild Rift is as free as possible

Good part about League of Legends: Wild Rift It is a free game. Another advantage of this game is that the match has slightly shorter rounds of 15-20 minutes compared to the PC version which can span up to 45 minutes or an hour for that matter. Similar to the PC version, heroes can be unlocked via gameplay. Riot Games has promised to bring more gifts for the hero at higher levels. Like Blue essence from PC League of Legends, you’ll win blue deaths after level 10 that will help you buy champions. One must note that new champions can only be purchased using a combination of blue cores and wild cores which are paid currency. There is another coin called Poro coin that can be used to purchase emotes, ornaments, and other costumes.

League of Legends: Wild Rift release date

Riot Games released LOL Wild Rift beta in October 2020 in select regions. The developer has not made any official announcement regarding the global release of Wild Rift. The game is currently available to players in Vietnam, Europe, Taiwan, Turkey, Oceania, Russia, the CIS, North Africa and the Middle East.

League of Legends: Wild Rift – How to download?

While most of the users in India prefer to play FPS games (honorable mention PUBG), Wild Rift is highly awaited by the Indian MOBA community. The game is currently available for pre-registration on Google Play. But in case you want to give the game a try, here’s how to download it.

First thing first, we don’t recommend using “cheat codes” to access unreleased games, but if you have PUBG in your mobile phone, you won’t be guilty of testing the new MOBA title. And in case you are a bit hesitant, the developer has a partnership with Tencent Gaming, which means you will find better graphics compared to other mobile MOBA games.

However, download a premium VPN (as a precaution), and set the location to the SEA country (Southeast Asia) where the beta is published. Once the VPN is activated download the apk and obb files which you will find in Google. Install the file and open it. A folder of obb file will be created in your device. An error will appear, but don’t worry, just close the game. Head to the obb file folder of Wild Rift in your phone and then click on internal storage> Android> obb> com.riotgames.league.wildrift (via Jamzo). Copy the obb file to the obb folder you just opened. Create a new Riot Account to save yourself from being banned by developer, and you’re good to go.
