Telstra dumped A $ 10 off its NBN plans for a limited time
Telstra is offering a rare discount on its NBN plans, in the form of saving AUS $ 10 on your monthly bill for six months. It only applies to new customers, unfortunately, and of course you’ll need to live at an NBN-friendly place. But it’s somewhat uncommon for Telstra to underestimate the cost of NBN’s expensive plans, so it’s worth studying.
The NBN 50 plan, which is advertised as “50 Mbps Typical Evening Speed” is usually A $ 90 a month with a 24-month contract, but at the moment you can sign up for a $ 80 a month for the first six months, after which the price returns To the usual $ 90 AUD.
The same discount applies to Telstra’s NBN 100 plan, which, as the name implies, offers “Typical 100MB Download Speeds” in the evening for A $ 110 a month for 24 months. Currently it is A $ 100 for the first six months.
There are other bonuses: No connection fees if you register online, and you’ll be able to keep the built-in modem if you stick for the 24 months. But of course, there are caveats as well: If your connection is FTTN (fiber to the node), you probably can’t get the NBN 50 deal, and for the NBN 100 deal: You can’t get it at all.
However, if you fit all criteria, it’s worth looking at, and Telstra also offers Game Optimiser for A $ 10 a month, which aims to help with lag by improving the flow of data on your connection. I haven’t tried it so I can’t guarantee its effectiveness, but it uses the same technology as the cutting edge technology Netgear game routers are like this. Offer ends March 29th.
