Razer brought up a new gaming chair concept today, but it just isn’t One you expect. At first glance, it looks like an inverted gaming chair. It has a single sleek design, and some RGB on the sides, but there’s a lot more to the eye. This chair does more than support the bottom of any player for a while – it comes with its own screen. Razer calls this a gaming chair Brooklyn Project, But I’m calling it one of the craziest things I’ve seen at this year’s CES.
It’s important to keep in mind that the Brooklyn Project is just a concept, not a real one. Put your wallet away, millionaires, you can’t have this yet. Instead, Razer appears to be using it as a concept on which to base other ideas. Whether these ideas are equally unruly gaming chairs or some other must-see.
A preview of things to come
If future Razer products are to build on the gaming chair on display at this year’s CES, the future will be wild. Project Brooklyn comes with an RGB stand and a built-in desk. Of course, all of this pales in comparison to the compact OLED screen. The monitor arm is integrated into a compartment attached to the back of the chair. It climbs up and over the top of the chair before slowly opening at eye level. Yes, the screen in this crazy chair appears like scrolling. The 60 ” full screen should surround anyone in the chair’s field of view.
Oh, and the chair itself looks cute, too. It has 4D armrests, although it is not unique, as it is included in nearly every gaming chair. What stands out is what Razer calls “Super Sense Technology”. It seems like this is kind of Haptic feedback Integrated into the back of the chair is intended to immerse players even more. Of course, the chair also has carbon fiber, because hey, what’s cooler than that?
