Jio & MediaTek Announce Gaming Masters: Details

Tuesday, Geo And the MediaTek She announced a collaboration to launch “Gaming Masters”, an esports event targeting new and existing online gaming fans in India. Registration for the esports event will continue until January 9, 2021. The tournament will start on January 13 and will run until March 7. The 70-day esports championship announced after the success of JioGames, is Jio’s first online gaming event – “India’s Ka Games Champion”. Both Jio and MediaTek announced that there would be no registration or participation fee for anyone joining the tournament. This decision will definitely encourage more and more players to participate in the esports championship. Jio and MediaTek also announced that players will have a chance to win a prize of Rs 12.5 lakh (12,500,000 Rs). In an official press release, Jio confirmed with MediaTek that “Gaming Masters is a popular project by MediaTek and Jio, and aims to revolutionize online gaming.” The companies also said the tournament aims to “test a player’s skill, teamwork and endurance in the virtual gaming arena.”

Jio and MediaTek also highlighted that “Gaming Masters will feature the self-built Garena battle royale title, Free Fire, which is made available to Jio and non-Jio users through the JioGames platform.”
